“A testament for the writing in this series is how Azula, the coldest, most ruthless villain in the series, is just as human as the rest of the cast. Her jealousy and overall awkwardness in “The Beach” and her mental breakdown in the finale are moments when I almost forget about how cruel she can be. It’s also very heavily implied that she became a monster because she believed her mother didn’t love her. No matter all the wrong she’s done I find her to be such a tragic character, brainwashed by her father and unknowing of the love she could have had from her mother and so many more people in her life. I just feel pity for her, but at the same time I know she would burn me to death if she knew I did.”
